While our website can provide a wealth of information about our curriculum, ethos and facilities, we believe that the true spirit of St Margaret’s Hampstead can only be experienced in person. Visiting our school is the most important step in the admissions process, giving you the chance to soak up its spirit for yourself.

Open mornings

Open Mornings: experience our vibrant community

Our Open Mornings are a wonderful opportunity to see St Margaret’s Hampstead at its most vibrant. Held during a normal school day, you’ll get a true picture of life here, seeing lessons in progress and hearing the natural buzz of the school community.

It is a chance to meet the people who bring our school to life – our passionate teachers and thoughtful students – and to ask the questions that matter most to you.

What to expect at an open morning

A welcoming reception and check in.

A guided tour of our school, led by our pupils, giving you an unfiltered view of daily life.

Opportunities to observe lessons in progress and see how our teachers and students interact.

A chance to meet and speak with our Head, teachers and key staff members.

The opportunity to ask staff any questions you may have.

Private Tours: a personalised visit

If our Open Morning dates do not work for you, or if you prefer a more focused and intimate experience, we warmly invite you to book a one-to-one tour of the school. This tailored visit is a great way to see the school in session and ask specific questions that are important to your family.

During a private tour, you will have the chance to:

Meet personally with a member of our admissions team and a member of staff or pupil who will give you a tour of our school.

Meet the Head.

Have a one-on-one conversation to discuss your daughter's unique interests and needs with Deputy Head (Academic) or our Head of SEN.

Explore our facilities and see lessons in progress at a time that is convenient for you.

What to look out for on your visit

To help you make the most of your time at St Margaret’s Hampstead, here are some of the questions we encourage you to ask during your visit:

Atmosphere: did the school feel welcoming? Did you like the atmosphere and surroundings?

Student Life: were you able to speak to other pupils about their experiences? What support is available in social times, such as playtimes and lunch?

Academics: what is the marking and assessment policy, and how is it followed?

Support: Are there before- and after-school clubs? How does the school handle home-school communication?
